Frequently Asked Questions

About Products

Q: Why Does the Green Pasture's Cod Liver Oil look or smell different this time? Is it bad?

A: It is not bad or rancid. It is normal for the fermented fish liver oils to change color, flavor, texture, and smell from batch to batch. Fermented cod liver oil smells fishy, and some batches smell stronger than others. That is normal.

There are a few reasons for the changes from batch to batch. First off, the fermentation process is not industrialized. It is a very natural process and nothing is homogenized. This minimal processing makes it more potent. Another reason is environmental factors. These fish are wild caught in the Bering Sea/Aleutian Islands waters and what they eat, which can change seasonally, affects the final outcome.

Something to remember about the fermented cod liver oil is that it is extremely stable. The Vikings used to keep their barrels of it outside the doors of their huts. It has withstood the test of time and is still considered a great overall health supplement.

Q: Are there any concerns with shipping Green Pasture oils in the summer heat?

A: Green Pasture assures us that their oils are completely transport stable, even in the heat of summer. The heat needs to be much higher to start damaging the nutrients within. The packaging for shipping blocks out any direct sunlight, which is the primary concern for preserving the oil quality. Green Pasture oils will not go rancid from summer heat. There really is nothing to worry about shipping this across the country in the heat of summer. It is a very stable product.

Q: Are there any concerns with shipping Rosita Extra Virgin Cod Liver Oil in the summer heat?

The Rosita Extra Virgin Cod Liver Oil is perfectly safe to ship without insulated bags even in the hottest summer weather – even if it sits in the sun for hours waiting for you to get home. Make sure to let the bottle cool off in the fridge before you open it if you get your package and the bottle is warm to the touch.

Q: Does it cost to ship?

A: We provide free shipping to the USA on orders of $45 or more. You will have to pay for shipping if you request Priority or Express shipping. Feel free to contact us for details!

Q: Do you ship internationally?

A: Due to Covid restrictions, we only offer international shipping Canada for the time being. We hope tthings change soon and we can again ship to more countries. Please note that it usually takes two-three weeks for an international package to arrive at its destination. Please contact us for specifics.

About Orders

Q: I just placed my order with my credit card and the money came out of my account. Why does my order still say awaiting payment?

A: Credit card processing is a convoluted business. Credit card banks take the money as soon as you place your order and it sits on hold for a bit. It does not come to us until we process your order and hit a little button that says "capture funds". Once we do that, your bank releases the money to us and your order status switches to awaiting shipment. You don't get notified of that change, but you do get notified once it ships.

Q: I ordered the wrong product/the wrong quantity...can I get a return/refund?

A: Of course! Please check our Returns page for details, and, of course, feel free to contact us with questions!

Q: If a complication arises with my order, will you let me know?

A: Definitely. While Nourishing World strives for the very best in service, sometimes factors outside of our control – such as manufacturer shortages – can occur. If that happens, our support team will contact you via email or phone call.

Q: Who can I contact with additional questions?

A: If you have any questions not answered here, please give us a call or send us an email and we will get back to you as soon as possible. Our contact information is available here.
